Harbour island is known to be called by several other names such as Briland or Dunmore town.

"Briland" is a local nickname for Harbour Island, Bahamas It’s a contraction of “Harbour Island”—blending the words together to form "Briland." This nickname is affectionately used by locals and long-time visitors, and reflects the laid-back, tight-knit, and culturally rich nature of the island community. Dunmore town is the main settlement on Harbour Island, located just off the northeast coast of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. It is a historic and charming colonial-era village known for its pastel-colored cottages, narrow flower-lined streets, and laid-back, upscale atmosphere.

The term “settlement” is used instead of “town” or “village” to describe local inhabited areas, especially in the Family Islands (also known as the Out Islands). Each island may have several settlements, often spread out and connected by rural roads or water routes.

Those terms can be used alternatively but Harbour Island is definitely the most used terminology.
